Measures Consulting was set up in 2010 by Chris Measures, who has spent nearly 20 years working for international technology PR and marketing agencies. Co-director Kate Measures brings a focus on B2B PR and event management, with experience that includes both corporate profile raising and crisis management.
Before creating his own agency, Chris Measures was joint head of technology at London-based agency Speed Communications, the 50 person PR arm of marketing services organisation the Loewy Group. He is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Chris uses his deep understanding of market business drivers to develop and implement creative PR campaigns that span digital and traditional media to deliver business objectives. Experience includes building profile for new entrants to the European market, communicating repositioning for blue chip players, running customer programmes that maximise third party endorsement and media strategies that comprehensively outshout the competition.
His past client portfolio includes major quoted companies such as Virgin Media Business, Microsoft Great Plains, Madge Networks, Computer Associates and Fujitsu/ICL, sector leaders that include Callidus, Altran Praxis, The Mathworks and DataMirror and fast-growth/startup companies such as Transversal, Wacom Components, Collabora and Exony. For more information, see our Experience section.
Before being part of the management team that created Speed, Chris worked for leading technology agencies Rainier PR (now Speed), Grant Butler Coomber (now One Chocolate), Spreckley Partners and Buffalo Communications. He began his PR career working for the Cambridge University Student Union (CUSU), an elected post that included campaigns on student funding and access as well as appearances on local radio and TV.
A self-confessed technology nut, Chris holds an MA (Hons) in History from the University of Cambridge and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Professional Diploma in Marketing. An active blogger, his Revolutionary Measures site provides a bird’s eye view of the changing PR and marketing scene.
Chris is heavily involved in the Cambridge networking scene and is the co-founder of Idea Transform, an initiative designed to help startups develop meaningful ideas through weekend bootcamp events, mentoring and networks. He has a weekly column in tech title Cabume, has spoken at Cambridge Pitch and Mix on the topic of PR on a shoestring as well as appearing on Cambridge City Radio.
In his spare time after moving out of London in 2003, Chris has been enjoying the chance to watch more of his beloved Ipswich Town Football Club as well as growing prize-winning vegetables, including the best mangetout in the village…..
